Initial responsibilities include visual inspection of real estate followed by drafting of reports describing the physical condition, environmental status and energy/water performance of buildings.
TITLE & SALARY:
Commensurate with experience with the ability to rapidly advance consistent with competence and developing expertise. Salaries exceed industry norms with benefits that include subsidized insurance that includes health, dental and vision coverage and matching 401(k).
LOCATION:
Home office located in the greater Atlanta area and reporting to corporate personnel in Chicago.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Self-management of scheduling and travel to sites assigned by the corporate office.
• Professionally interact with clients, property management and tenants encountered at sites.
• Walk and visually inspect real property and improvements.
• Organization and attention to detail to ensure thorough, comprehensive assessments.
• Timely correspondence and coordination with clients, vendors and corporate staff.
• Recognize and evaluate environmental conditions.
• Assess the physical condition and needs of improvements to real estate.
• Develop repair and maintenance budgets for immediate needs and multi-year management.
• Audit water and energy usage and evaluate conservation methods.
• Draft clear, concise reports consistent with ASTM, client and lender formats.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
The necessary expertise spans many disciplines and REA is committed to training to develop the diverse skills. Optimal Bachelor’s degrees are in construction management, engineering and architecture. Degrees in environmental science are also valuable. Optimal experience includes building assessment, audits, design, maintenance and construction.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Assessments require the ability to travel, drive and to walk great distances while accessing areas that may require crawling, crouching and climbing. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
SKILLS:
